Age
Age is not a number, she said.
It's not years, moon coming and going,
sun coming and going,
it's when you recognize yourself,
in all the other stories.
The joy, the pain,
finding and losing,
birth and death,
is it you, is it me,
same thing,
same heart,
same ending.
You lose count.
I have been there, my friend,
I already had the soul you have now,
that's how I know
I have been living,
long enough.
