"I tried everything, I swear. I even asked her to write down a list of what she would like me to change about my ways. We both did it, in fact."
"That's commendable", I said. "Did it work?"
"Nah. I understood it will never work the moment I saw that her list was three times longer than mine. And it wasn't finished yet, she said. In the end, she didn't want me...was I to change all that stuff, I would have been a totally different person."
