Loveless

First I cried for myself.
Then the tears burned holes in my palms.
So I could look at you, framed by scorched flesh
and saw you
whole, standing tall
a loveless, sculpted, adorned stone tower
that didn't need windows, or doors,
to shine bright over troubled waters.

Mother of waves,
sister of storms,
pillar of fire,
I can see you.
