Does not feeling pain count as courage?
I'm unfeeling you, and I'll be fine,
I learnt how to breathe between the waves,
and count splashes in anticipation.

All honest poems should begin with "I". Ever pretending that I know how others feel would be so heartless. But I still count the splashes in anticipation.
